Medical information

The professional body of Iyengar Yoga teachers in the UK & Ireland and our insurers have stated that teachers must be able to see all students online, just as in a regular class. As such, all students are asked to have their camera switched on. If you take part in a class with a teacher you haven’t practised with before please introduce yourself to the teacher before the class and let them know your level of experience.

If you have any physical or medical conditions, or if you are not in overall good health, please consult your GP before enrolling in a yoga class. Certified Iyengar Yoga Teachers are trained to help people with common injuries and ailments like lower back, knee and neck pain.  Before the start of the class, please chat to teacher via the Zoom chat function to let them know if you have any such injuries or ailments or if you are menstruating, so they can advise you accordingly.

The following medical conditions should be reported to the teacher beforehand as live online classes may not be suitable for students with certain medical conditions;  Heart disease or any heart problem, epilepsy including Petit Mal, cancer or benign tumours, diabetes, Meniere’s disease, detached retina or any recent operation. Our live-online classes are not suited to new students who are pregnant.

All information will be treated with the strictest of confidence and is only required to ensure your safety.
