Yoga teachers.
Regular yoga classes and
workshops are taught by Susanne Sturton and Lisa
Bedford, who are both certified Iyengar Yoga
teachers.
Susanne has
been a yoga practitioner for over fifteen years, having
first been introduced to the art on her travels through
Asia. She continued to complete a five year Iyengar
Yoga teacher training programme in the UK, qualifying
at the
Iyengar
Yoga Institute (Maida Vale) in London . This
was followed by two years teaching at the Long
Ditton Yoga Centre in Surrey, England, before
returning to Ireland in 2002. In addition to
teaching
regular weekly classes
at the centre she continues to attend workshops
with visiting Senior teachers. In 2004 she
travelled to Pune, India to attend Geeta Iyengar’s
60th birthday celebrations, during which she
received yoga tuition from Geeta and her father
BKS Iyengar. She is a member of the Iyengar Yoga
Association of the UK and the Munster Iyengar Yoga
Institute.
Lisa began her
study of yoga over ten years ago and has been
practising the Iyengar method for the past 6 years. She
regularly attends workshops with visiting Senior
teachers both at the east clare yoga centre, Tuamgraney
and in Dublin. She also attended Iyengar Yoga classes
during her visit to India in 2008 and more recently the
Iyengar Yoga Assocation's 2009 Convention in London,
taught by Dr. Geeta Iyengar. She qualified as an
Iyengar Yoga teacher in 2008 and currently teaches
classes at the east clare yoga centre, Tuamgraney and
in Killaloe. She is a member of the Iyengar Yoga
Association of the UK and the Munster Iyengar Yoga
Institute.
Workshops and Yoga Weekends
Regular
yoga weekend workshops
and bank holiday yoga weekend workshops are hosted
regularly by visiting national and international
teachers.
All yoga classes and
workshops at the centre are conducted by teachers
who hold the international Iyengar Yoga
Certification Mark, a symbol of excellence and
authenticity in teaching the Iyengar method in its
purest form.
